Assessment is a continuous part of learning, not a one-time test. Teachers track each child’s progress through ongoing formative and summative assessments, while self and peer assessments help learners reflect on their own growth.
This balanced approach gives a complete picture of every learner, what they understand, where they’re stretching and how we can support their next steps with clarity and care.
Learners build the future-ready skills to thrive in life. Through the IB Learner Profile, they learn to think deeply, communicate clearly, lead themselves and work well with others. As they grow as inquirers, thinkers, communicators and caring, open-minded risk-takers, they also develop “The Big 5” – Cognitive, Self-Leadership, Interpersonal, Digital and Global skills outlined by the ISP Life Competencies framework.
Step by step, they learn to find and use their voice, solve problems independently, act with integrity and navigate a changing world with balance, confidence and compassion.
At our Primary School in Erode, learners build on their early foundations to become confident, flexible language users in a truly multilingual environment. English remains the main language of instruction, now used for deeper thinking, reading, writing and collaboration across subjects.
Tamil instruction continues as well as an additional language, strengthening literacy and expression while honouring our roots in Tamil Nadu and keeping learners closely connected to their home culture, family and community.
From Primary, learners also begin their exploration of Hindi, enhancing multilingual skills in reading, speaking, writing and listening.
Learners access exclusive international experiences that make them grow into global citizens. Through ISP's International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS), learners dive into their passions in science, art, chess or social activism while building the confidence and skills to thrive in a connected world.
Core programmes, including ISP Virtual Exchange, ISP Changemakers and ISP Artists, are designed to grow specific life competencies, from intercultural understanding and digital fluency to creativity and leadership, preparing learners to navigate and shape a rapidly changing world.
The PYP Exhibition is a powerful milestone where Grade 5 learners step up as true inquirers and young change-makers. Through a fully student-led project, they explore meaningful local and global issues that matter to them, asking deep questions, researching independently and taking action.
Student-led projects
As one of the best Primary Schools in Erode, learners choose their own focus, design their lines of inquiry and work collaboratively with teachers, mentors, peers and community members to investigate real-world issues. Along the way, they live the IB Learner Profile, building research, communication, self-management and critical thinking skills, and showing resilience, empathy and open-mindedness.
Future-ready preparation
The PYP Exhibition is a future-ready launchpad, giving learners the real-world skills and confidence they need for the next stage of their learning. Their journey ends in powerful presentations that turn understanding into meaningful action for their community and beyond. As a celebrated milestone among our whole-school community, learners, teachers, parents and local partners, the Exhibition honours their growth and achievements, marking their readiness to embrace new academic challenges with pride, purpose and a strong sense of belonging.
Global and local perspective
Learners explore issues that matter both locally and globally, linking their immediate environment to the wider world. Through rich discussions and brainstorming, they talk about real challenges and opportunities, find their voice and identify meaningful ways to make a difference. This global–local lens reflects our commitment to nurturing inquisitive minds and compassionate leaders, showcasing the power of student agency, collaboration and authentic inquiry in an experience that leaves a lasting impact on learners and the whole community.
Where curiosity becomes lifelong learning
The beauty of the PYP lies in its ability to transform a classroom into a world of endless discovery. It isn't just a curriculum, it is a high-standard framework that nurtures a child’s natural curiosity into a lifelong passion for learning.
