What's happening
At The Indian Public School Erode International, food and nutrition form an essential part of the learning journey, not an optional extra. The Food and Beverage team serves safe, nutritious and culturally inclusive meals, with balanced menus that bring together Indian and international cuisines.
Through transparent menu planning, careful food waste monitoring and active collaboration with learners and parents, the school nurtures wellbeing, sharp classroom focus and healthy habits that last well beyond graduation.
Meal programmes & menu planning
Learners enjoy balanced daily meals through carefully planned menus that combine Indian home-style cooking with a range of international options.
Menu options for every need
All learners receive vegetarian and non-vegetarian options with age-appropriate servings and allergy-aware preparation, ensuring every meal is safe, inclusive and suited to individual needs.
Food safety & hygiene
At The Indian Public School, learners receive meals prepared under strict quality standards by trained staff in carefully monitored kitchens, ensuring consistent safety and hygiene every day.
At our international school in Tamil Nadu, learners benefit from a complete dining experience with breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks provided every day, plus full catering support for special events and field trips.
The Food and Beverage team designs balanced weekly and monthly menus that blend Indian and international cuisines. Here at TIPS, we source only fresh ingredients from approved suppliers. Most of our daily deliveries of vegetables, fruit, dairy and meat come from local producers, meaning we can literally trace each meal from ‘farm to fork.’ We keep our menus seasonal and change them regularly while adhering to standard nutritional guidelines.
Our menus include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options and are designed to respect cultural and religious preferences across the community.
Every meal is planned with age-appropriate portions and balanced nutrition in mind, ensuring the right mix of proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins.
Preparation is allergy-aware and food waste is carefully monitored to promote responsible eating habits and a thoughtful attitude to food.
Food safety underpins everything we do in our kitchen. The team follows Food Safety and Standards Authority of India practices, uses temperature-controlled storage and applies strict hygiene and grooming protocols for all staff.
Medically cleared and well trained, our kitchen professionals receive ongoing FoSTaC and external training, while strong quality control, stock management and partnerships with approved vendors ensure consistently safe and reliable meals every day.
Learners play an active role in shaping food at TIPS International - Erode, exploring nutrition, leading initiatives, trying out real-life food entrepreneurship and working with their families so the dining experience reflects their voices and choices.
Through our Food and Beverage team, learners experience nutrition as a dynamic, hands-on part of everyday school life. Interactive sessions build their understanding of what makes a balanced plate, how food choices affect energy, focus and long-term wellbeing and why safe kitchen practices are essential.
Industrial kitchen visits, cooking classes and bakery sessions allow them to watch professionals at work, experiment with simple recipes and handle ingredients with growing skill and confidence.
Student voice sits at the heart of the TIPS International - Erode food journey. A dedicated Students’ Food Committee gathers feedback on menus and dining experiences, shares ideas with the Food and Beverage team and helps shape food-related events across the year.
Learners take the lead in theme-based food days, Moonlight dinners, Thanksgiving celebrations and the Papa Chef event, where they help plan dishes, design stalls and encourage their peers to try something new.
Food programmes offer meaningful opportunities to build entrepreneurship and everyday life skills. Through student-led food stalls, kitchen exposure programmes, service support roles and involvement in the Aram Canteen, learners help plan, prepare and serve food in a structured, supervised setting.
They work in teams, handle simple transactions, manage time and understand the importance of quality and hygiene in real-life contexts.
Strong partnerships with families keep food and nutrition transparent, inclusive and closely aligned with learners' needs. Menus are shared through the school portal so parents can see what their children are eating each day, while open kitchen visits and food tasting sessions provide a direct view of how meals are prepared.
At our IB school in Erode, parents can share suggestions and concerns through clear feedback channels, which are regularly reviewed by a dedicated Food Committee that includes parents, school management and the Food and Beverage team.
Nutritious, balanced meals at school fuel learners' growth, immunity and daily energy, helping them stay focused in class and engage actively in learning.
Balanced food at school supports concentration and academic success throughout the learning day.
Daily access to balanced meals helps learners build positive lifelong eating habits and maintain steady energy levels.
